Winter Outfit & Gear

Greetings,

I hope you are doing well. It has been a while since I send you my last update on my Wilderness Experience stories. There has simply been another focus. Not an excuse of course, but at least an explanation 🙂

The last story I shared in April of this year was my personal “Running Down a Deer” story. How I went through my lowest point and came out on the other side, enjoying running and tracking and building stamina. And also the second part of that story: My Personal Highlight: Walking Down a Deer.. 😉 read more

My personal Highlight of Running Down a Deer

Greetings,

about two weeks ago I sent you the first part of my “Running Down a Deer” story. How I went through my lowest point and came out on the other side, enjoying running and tracking and building stamina.
And now I finally prepared the second part of that story: My Personal Highlight: Walking Down a Deer.. 😉

I’d love to get some feedback on how you liked the story.

Also just to make sure that you understand the story correctly: I never actually saw the animal. The signs told me part of the story, and the way I interpreted it did the rest. read more

The Wilderness Chronicles: Running Down a Deer

Greetings,

Until now, I’ve been very reluctant to share a lot of my wilderness experience. Not because I don’t want to talk about it, but somehow, I’ve put too much pressure on it, and wanted to make it perfect, and do a perfect video and be the perfect storyteller.

But I finally took the time to face my fears and hesitations around sharing my story. I can see, how this main part of the story, as well as some of the others that will follow might possibly can be translated into somewhat similar situations in our “normal” lives, and be helpful (or at least entertaining or inspiring) to you or other people in that way. read more

Wig-what?

Greetings,

Whenever someone experiences something and tells that story, we get certain images in our heads of how that experience was. How the surroundings looked like, what their daily lives must have been like. It doesn’t matter, if it is a story in a book, or one that we listen to, a fictional story or a “true” recollection.

And it is an amazing gift, that we have our imagination and creativity fired up, that is creating pictures in our heads. So a lot of times, I like to refrain from showing too much of how something “actually” looked like, because there is always a risk for disappointment. Whereas our imagination is designed to give us exactly what we want or expect to see. read more

I’m coming home

My dear relation,

I feel a warmth in my heart, thinking of each one of you, who signed up to be part of my journey into the wilderness. My words may seem floral or romanticised to some of you, which is usually not my style, but for some reason, I feel a lot softer and somehow at least right now inspired to find more beautiful words to express my self.

Five suns ago I came back from my expierence in the wilderness. Two moons – 60 suns – of living in nature, away from civilization. No artificial light, no electricity, no other people around me except for my (sometimes slightly varying) clan, and the occasional visit by the guides who supported us on our journey. read more

Why the hell would anyone go into the wilderness?

I’m excited that you want to learn more about my adventure. And as a starting point, I recorded a video, talking a little more about why I decided to do that wilderness training and my thoughts around what I will most likely experience.

Last week in my Podcast (only available in German at the moment) I also talked about the topic of fear and going where the fear is. And that topic inevitably comes up at some point when we decide to walk our own path, and listen more to our own wishes, needs and truth.  read more
